Have you heard this story before?...... Someone is reluctantly dragged to a meeting or listened to a conference call about some company and how this product can change the world.  They hear about the tens & hundreds of thousands of dollars they can make every month.  Their sponsor tells them that they’d make sure that they were successful.  So, the sign up and generally a packet of stuff shows up on their doorstep within a few days.  They eagerly open everything and then ask, so now what do I do?

I can’t be the only one out there who had a similar experience.  Luckily for me, I’m ambitious and can motivate myself.  So, I got to work.  But many don't do anything because they are so overwhelmed.

Fact is, many MLM companies have products that can change the world.  And, a lot of people do make tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars every month.

So, who do you get started.  Here are a few things that I did and I think that they can help you……

Learn everything you can about your new company and its products

I joined Zrii which is very new.  So, I had to learn about who Bill Farley and Deepak Chopra were.  I hadn’t heard of these guys before.  But as I researched them I found a ton of stuff that I liked and things that I could tell other people about.  Plus, I had to learn about our product.  The main ingredient of Zrii is the Amalaki. What the heck is that?  How do I even say it?  I studied.  Remember, with knowledge comes power.  After a very short period of time, I was able to tell others the story of Zrii with confidence.  You need to be able to do the same for your organization and products.

Start Talking People

Don’t worry about perfecting a script of being strategic about who to tell first.  Just start talking.  Make mistakes, goof up, say the wrong thing.  Because as you do, you will learn how to do it better.  A good place to practice is at the mall.  Go into stores, look a things you like to look at.  When the sales rep engages you, have a pleasant conversation with them.  As you do, bring up what you do and tell them a little about the company.  Ask if you can email them some information.  After you get their emails, ask them to write down their phone number so you can call them later and invite them to a meeting.  If they say no or it doesn’t work, who cares?!  At least you tried and you became more comfortable with talking to others about what you do.

Oh, one other thing….make a list of everyone you know.  Make a point of speaking with all of these people within a month.  Don’t contact them just to sell them on your company.  Instead call, have a nice conversation and tell them about what you are doing.  Don’t be afraid to invite them to a meeting or to send them some information.

Be Prepared for Rejection

I’ve been in sales, so I was ready for this.  But a l

ot of people are not.  You are going to talk to others who think you are foolish, don’t want to have anything to do with you, think you are selling snake oil, and some who may offer to help you get out of what you are trying to do.  Keep in mind, these people generally have good intentions.  Don’t let them bother you.  They don’t see the world the way you do.  And remember, every ‘no’ is one person closer to a ‘yes!’

Don’t try to reinvent the wheel

Stick with what works.  Keep it simple.  Find others in your organization who are rock starts.  Copy what they do.  Don’t try to develop a clever script that if it goes perfectly the person you are talking with will have to sign up with you.  Instead, be real and down to earth.  I recently signed up a wonderful lady with my company because she had found my blog and on that I’m very personable.  It’s not a sales pitch, just some guy’s perspective on our company.  It works!  She signed up and we had never met face to face.

Get people to a Third party endorser

I told my wife about Zrii and that I thought I wanted to join.  She trusts me, but rolled her eyes and said good luck.  Within the first few days I told her some cool things about the company and frankly she didn’t care much.  Then, I got her to a meeting where some guy who looks like a plumber told us that he has helped 9 families retire!  He told the group about how to be successful.  Much of what he said, I had already told my wife.  But, she believed him and trusted him.  Neither of us had met the man. I don’t tell you this story because my wife didn’t believe me; I tell it to prove a point.  People may believe a stranger who tells them about your MLM company more than they believe you.  Don’t let that bother you, embrace it.  Let people hear someone else explain your company.

Do something everyday

You should work on your business every single day!  Without fail.  Even on vacation.  I follow the rule of 5: I do five things everyday to spread the message of Zrii.  Others I know make sure that every day they:

  1. Invite someone to learn about their company
  2. Follow up with someone
  3. Call someone in their organization to help mentor them
  4. Educate themselves more about their company.

Doing something every day will ensure that you are constantly growing you business!

I sincerely hope that these tips help.  I think that MLM is a great way to make a living.  If I can help anyone, please visit my blog at www.aboutzrii.blogspot.com.  My contact info is at the top and I’m more than willing to talk!  Thanks everyone for reading!
